Ultrasound & Kristy Higgs - January 25th, besides being cold, brought our first, maybe only, ultrasound. The baby seems perfectly healthy and quite active. The baby was a ham for the "camera". Every attempt at getting a profile shot was thwarted by the little one deciding to face the ultrasound probe. However, in keeping consistent with playing it up for the camera this little boy was quite the exhibitionist like his brother and there was no question as to what we are having. The little guy was measuring just a little big, therefore the midwives changed our due date...again; June 28th. For those of you keeping count that is our fourth due date. So I'm just going to stick to the ever precise date of June 15 - July 15, or right around there. We did get a VHS video of our newest family member and have posted some still pictures of him on the photo portion of this page.

The ultrasound was followed by a regular checkup with another of the Carle midwives, Kristy Higgs, CNM. She was very nice and seemed quite knowledgeable. We went over a few regular pregnancy "side effects" and how to alleviate them. We also chatted with her a little about the labor and delivery of Jesse and some of what happened there so that some of the scarier parts could hopefully be avoided with this one. That's all for now. Our next appointment is February 26th, again with Kristy.

Introducing: Ellen Solis, CNM - Please excuse our tardiness with this latest post. We've been holidaying and birthdaying and getting sick and getting better. December 28th, Jesse's birthday, brought with it our previous prenatal appointment. The first appointment with the midwives, well one of them. Currently there are six midwives at Carle, and we'll eventually meet them all.

This past appointment was with Ellen Solis, CNM. She was very nice, and knowledgeable. We listened to the baby's heartbeat, which was good and healthy sounding at 160bpm. She also went over our NFP charts with me to set an accurate due date (which the doctors weren't willing to do). The doctors said we were due June 23, which I knew was wrong. We were thinking it would be around June 30th, and Ellen said July 2nd will be the official due date. So there you have it, our due date is the end of June beginning of July give or take a couple of weeks. ;)

Our next appointment is January 25th. We'll be meeting Kristy Higgs, CNM, and having the first (maybe only) ultrasound. We will, of course, record it and let you all check it out here on the website.

Announcing: New Baby Kaap on the way! - Shooting to rocket past the national average at a blistering pace, another Kaap baby is on the way! This makes us a family of 4 (estimates may vary if you include imaginary friends). Do we have names? No. Do we want a girl or a boy? Definitely! When's (s)he due? Excellent question! Our due date is June 30, almost exactly 18 months after the big brother's big day!

We could not be more excited, and so very thankful for all who stop on by and wish us well. It was so amazing to hear from everyone following along with our first baby's development, so we thought we'd continue to share the news and share the enjoyment with anyone who'll listen! That's you!!!

So we'll start with the today's Dr appt. a-wock-a-wock-a-wock-a-wock-a-wock-a-wock-a-wock That's the baby's heartbeat. 175bpm. All is well as can be told with baby and mama! Not surprisingly Jesse is more than somewhat oblivious, but that will be sure to change as he is one curious little dude.
